Where to find us ?
Professional organizations
In partnership with external private and university laboratories as well as with industrialists and user organizations, our Research & Development Department constantly conducts studies and tests to develop new formulations and new equipment in line with the evolution of the regulations and ever more stringent standards. Efficiency tests, toxicological tests, ecotox, exposure, environment, registration file submission … All these works are managed from the industrial site of the Compagnie Générale des Insecticides based in the Paris region (see SOJAM Production & Control).
From the farm to the port silo, there is bound to be a PIRIGRAIN solution to meet your needs for insecticide protection of stored grains – a global solution, tailor-made by our Technical Service which provides all the equipment: the design of the equipment , the study of the installation, the assembly and the technical assistance proper to the maintenance and the regular controls on sites.
Call us to find out more: after visiting one of our specialized advisers, we will establish together an accurate diagnosis of your needs and the corresponding specifications.

Pheromone aggregation or kairomone monitoring can detect the presence of insects by attracting and trapping males and females.
• Avoid systematic preventive treatments.
• Monitor the level of infestation.
• Trigger a curative intervention in time.
• Target curative treatments.
The Pitfall two-colors trap is innovative in its shape, which allows the insects to enter easily without leaving the grain, and in its two colors: yellow for the part immersed in the grain and black on the surface. Pitfall with a dose of pheromones is especially designed to attract and trap insects from stored grains.
• Insects are detected up to 12 weeks earlier than sieving.
• Anticipate the measures to be taken thanks to the early detection of insects.
• Perfectly suited for integrated pest management.
• Check the performance of corrective actions.
• Unique patented pheromone microencapsulation process.
• 100% green and biodegradable.
• New formats and innovative application modes.
• Regular and extended diffusion for better efficiency.
• Simplified storage at room temperature.
• Long shelf life: 2 years and a half.
• Compatible with different types of traps.

To effectively protect the stored grains, the Compagnie Générale des Insecticides developed in 1966 a revolutionary process: « cold fogging ». Regularly improved since then, this process involves coating the grain in motion with an extremely fine mist ensuring a homogeneous distribution of the insecticide.
The nebulization is carried out thanks to simultaneous injections of compressed air and insecticide inside the nozzles specially designed for this process. The formulations are thus dispersed in particulate matter of 2 to 20 microns, according to the air pressure and the throughput required.
The nozzles are put in specific places according to the handling methods used.

Three factors may explain the presence of insects in stored grain: their intrusion into harvesting material, the supply of an infested batch from another stock, or the contamination of the storage room itself. In the latter case, 2 preventive treatments are necessary and are of a minimal cost compared to the risk incurred.
Floors, walls and supports nearby: all surfaces that may come into contact with stored grain may be a source of infestation and must be treated with a pre-press or maintained agricultural sprayer. The insecticide thus applied will be active for several months.
In addition to the surface treatment, it is also possible to proceed with the volume treatment that makes it possible to reach the very high parts. Its effectiveness will be all the greater as the local will have the capacity to hold the insecticide in the atmosphere for a sufficient time to act, the necessary contact time may vary from 1 to 6 hours depending on the thiness of the fog and the temperature. The equipment used must generate a spectrum of very fine dry or liquid particles in order to reach the furthest parts of the generator and keep them suspended in the atmosphere as long as possible.
Rather than using a thermal fogger that generates ultra-fine particles (0.3 to 1 micron) but alters the active ingredients by the heat released during the injection on the exhaust of an internal combustion engine, SOJAM recommends the use of a cold atomizer, electric or thermal motor. In this case, the active ingredients are preserved even if the particles are larger (between 9 and 30 microns). And the turbocharger units can reach much higher heights (up to 30 m), which is an additional guarantee of efficiency.

Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, Psocoptera or Mites? Regardless of their « family », stored grain pests can cause serious damage to stocks of grains, flours and grain products.
With the help of the practical guide PIRIGRAIN, observe and quickly identify the pests present in your places of storage. We will then be able to present you with the means of eradication we have.
Before use, make sure that it is essential. Wherever possible, use alternative methods and products with the lowest risk for human and animal health and the environment, in accordance with the principles of integrated protection.
Despite the use of modern techniques of storage and plant protection products, grouping crops creates an artificial ecological system particularly vulnerable to insect attack.
Weevils, sawtoothed grain beetles, brown and red floor beetles, lesser grain borers and dry fruit beetles, cereals alucites, flour moth, flour ciron … their presence, even minimal, can quickly depreciate an entire stock.
Revealed generally too late, during a movement of goods for example, the presence of insects constitutes the « potential pest danger » that can evolve into a massive infestation depending on the storage conditions.
Since negligence in health leads to significant qualitative and quantitative losses (around 25% minimum), the insecticidal protection of stored grains is therefore an unavoidable economic necessity, hence the benefits of the effective PIRIGRAIN solutions.
